The Washington Examiner reports:
A man is charged with drug offenses after Customs and Border Protection officials found cocaine-stuffed clams in his luggage at Washington Dulles International Airport, authorities said.
CBP officials said 26-year-old David Pocasangre Vaquiz, of El Salvador, was taken into custody after 15 clams containing plastic bags filled with cocaine were found in his luggage after he arrived at Dulles. Pocasangre Vaquiz arrived on a flight from Panama at about 2 a.m. Saturday, CBP spokesman Steve Sapp said.
The clams held 152 grams — or 5.36 ounces — of cocaine, a relatively small amount in a smuggling case, authorities said. The drugs have a street value of about $10,000.
. . .
Authorities said the clams had been opened, stuffed with the cocaine baggies and glued closed.

Er . . . um . . . well . . . yes, quite! What can one say, except:
- It's a good thing the courier was male. A woman, particularly if pregnant, might have contracted pre-eclampsia!
- He may not have planned to sell them, but to give them away - which would have been a very unshellfish act . . .
- If he doesn't confess, can he be said to have clammed up - literally?
- What if someone taking the drug is allergic to shellfish? Will the seller have to include a dis-clam-mer, warning of their tainted transportation?
I know, I know . . . "Don't give up your day job!"

Peter, count your meds. I think you'l find there are far too few remaining in the bottle. :-)
And for this I shell out 28 clams a month for my internet? Someone's going to conch out if the word jokes get any worse.

If he's tried to smuggle fewer clams he might have made it, but he got too shelfish.
