Today's award goes to the person or persons responsible for designing the new bicycle lane system in Moscow, Russia. According to an e-mail from reader Vladimir S, it's a nightmare. He enclosed these pictures to illustrate his point.
Looks more like a death-trap for cyclists than a lane, if you ask me! Those drain covers in the last picture give me the willies. I can just see my bike's front wheel slotting neatly into one of them, and me going base over tip into the traffic!

Having the entire lane painted gives me the willies--most paint is considerably slicker than pavement.
