Chilly can be beautiful
Speaking of extreme cold (see the post below this one), the 2014 Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival is under way in northern China. We've looked at previous festivals in these pages, and it's one of my ambitions (or 'on my bucket list', to use that horrible term) to visit it before I shuffle off this mortal coil. Here are some views of this year's exhibits.
It's amazing to think of how long the locals labor to produce such stunning works of art. Full marks to them all!

Very impressive work but to be honest with you I'm more than happy to enjoy them from inside my warm and comfy living room.
