"Taking a life is a terrible thing. Sometimes not taking a life is far, far worse."

Lawdog has some trenchant thoughts on the terror attack in Boulder, Colorado last weekend.  I endorse them wholeheartedly.

Go read, and ponder.

Law Dog is correct. What disturbs me more is people got out their phones and started recording. It appears, by some accounts, a retired police officer tackled the perpetrator.

can't agree
humans are animals and humans can become rabid; this is only one example
October 7th was another, Netanyahu is doing what is necessary for his country's survival
how far are we going to allow these rabid animals go?

Yes. Every one of the millions of Palestinians is a rabid animal, from infants to elderly. Is your SS uniform custom or rented?

I do not understand why someone didn't take action then and there!

When it is time to do your duty, do it well. Don't wound, don't risk it. If God has called you to be his swordsman/woman, do not leave the the opposition an active threat.

You DO NOT need a firearm to act.

You DO NOT need to even survive, if that is what it takes.

Do your duty.

Netanyahu's cabinet and the Hamas leadership share the same approach to their respective enemies. We should shun both of them. Genocide is evil no matter who advocates it.

False Comparison Fallacy.
-15 yards and loss of possession.

Call us when you have video of Jews in Tel Aviv handing out candy and dancing in the streets over the bombing of Gaza.
The citizens of Gaza are and always have been complicit and explicit in wanting kill the Jews "from the river to the sea".

They are now getting the same FAFO Award last conferred on Dresden, Berlin, and Tokyo.

Israel would have been well within their rights to give the Hiroshima and Nagasaki Award bar as well, but they're displaying restraint.

Hamas kidnapped and raped women and children.

If that had been Mexico doing that in the US, you'd be able to drive from Texas to Guatemala on unending highways of fused glass. By Day Two after it happened.

And there would be a bounty on Mexicans worldwide.

BTW, since the response kicked off, the Arabs in the West Bank have been scrupulously circumspect and well-behaved, and remained entirely unmolested. If Israel were so SS-bloodthirsty, why would this be so?

So, did you want to talk about the weather, or just make chit-chat?

LawDog TL;DR version:
"Some folks just need a heap o' killin'."

And he's absolutely 100% correct.

Boulder is a hardcore leftist environment, San Fran of the Rockies. It is not surprising in the least that they reacted the way they did.

Hey Peter

A few pithy comments, For whats it worth, it happened in a "Gun Free Zone", THe Perp was an illegal alien holdover from the Biden Administration, and he had overstayed his Visa. I saw on farcebook that his daughter who was in college is to be deported and people were complaining how "Mean" it was. I caught flack for saying that it was necessary. A lot of the people keep equating that everyone thinks like they do. The Arab world thinks totally different. I use the analogy, "They are Klingons". I believe that she knew that he was radicalized by our standards and to her it was a perfectly normal belief, it is an Arab belief., and in their society Honor killings is a thing, she would be honorbound to avenge her father,, to finish his work. so deportation is a necessity or we would invite more attacks.

My wife, as gentle and loving a grandmother as one could imagine, came to me a few years ago and said that she wanted to get a concealed handgun permit. I was shocked, but she said "I have defenseless people who depend on me." She has a .327 magnum revolver at arm's length every day now.

If that were true there'd be a lot more dead Palestinians. Hamas killed or took hostage every Israeli they could get their mitts on, and mostly did the former.

She could be put into pinion as an accomplice, as an alternative?

Were you born an expert gaslighter, or did you need training? There's literally video of Israelis celebrating the shooting of unarmed protesters in Gaza. Video. Just like there's video of Israelis celebrating 9/11. And you know it, despite your gaslighting.

Mexican cartels haven't raped and kidnapped American women? Dang, man. You went from gaslighting to telling us the house never existed, too. Impressive. Bold, even.

No, no one would be glassing Mexico for the same reason you said in the other thread, the moment a nuke is used, all the nukes are used. But intellectual consistency is too difficult, eh?

This. The event was a tragedy, to be sure, but at the same time, you get what you vote for.

Sadly, as is so often the case, there is really nothing that you can do even if you suspect radical islam is about to break out. Radical and stuffed to bursting with hatred is not a crime. People lose sight of that. Lawdog et al are right to point out that one should have the means to end the immediate threat when it finally appears. Nine times out of ten when I'm about and about, I'm at the wheel of one of the most destructive forces mankind has invented. I think deeply on carrying and each time come to the conclusion, not yet. I still stay away from the places that tweak my antennae.

Sweet suffering cats,

No one said no cartel members had ever raped or killed people. But if your response indicates you agree we should have started bombing them with Arc Light strikes a decade ago, just as Israel should be bombing Gaza out of existence a year and a half ago, you have my vote for your plans.

What cartels didn't do was invade San Diego to kill, rape, and carry off 3000 people in an afternoon, with official government approval, because they are the Mexican government.

But you knew that already.

So reduction ad absurdum, Apples To Oranges, and Straw Man Fallacies, all in one response. Gotta be a record, man. Walk tall.

Maybe read faster, and knee-jerk slower, Mr. Free Palestine.

Oh, and AL Jazeera shots pointing one way are about as credible as those of CNN reporters standing in a hole talking about hurricane floods, while teenagers walk by in the background in "flood waters" 3" deep.

Meanwhile, 21% of the population of Israel are Arabs, and they have seats in the Israeli parliament there, FFS. There are a higher percentage of Arabs in Israel than there are Blacks in the US. Give a holler when Israel starts killing that 1/5th of their own population, like they haven't, rather than the terrorists in Gaza who've been launching rockets into Israel indiscriminately for thirty years. This is called "taking out the trash".

While you're up, find where in my response I said we'd nuke Mexico. I'll wait while you look for what isn't there. Apparently, knowledge of the effects of napalm, fuel-air bombs, and other high-order explosives, along with reading comprehension, is too difficult, eh?

Bummer.

Once again, more reading, and less knee-jerking, and you'll have a far more harmonious outcome in life.
