Given the number of travel disruptions airlines have reported over the past summer (most recently just yesterday), I daresay more than a few of their pilots must have considered that option!

I was flying to Philly from Florida many moons ago when we were delayed in Baltimore, and it looked like it might be cancelled, so they chartered busses and drove all of us to the Philadelphia Airport. We got there about 15 minutes before our (suddenly not cancelled) flight with all our luggage did.
