The idle musings of a former military man, former computer geek, medically retired pastor and now full-time writer. Contents guaranteed to offend the politically correct and anal-retentive from time to time. My approach to life is that it should be taken with a large helping of laughter, and sufficient firepower to keep it tamed!
You should have planned a trip to Montana. Up near Glacier National Park they got two feet of snow over the weekend and there were widespread frost warnings.
It's 90+ here in Michigan. We called the auto shop and told them our air in the Traverse is out. They said bring it on down and we'll fit it in. They know we are old and didn't realize we have a second vehicle now.
Huh…out here in Wyoming on our travels it hit 37 this morning and a high of 61 as a cold front moved through the past few days. Togwotee Pass into Jackson was 31 last night….out of state visitors are buying all the fleece in town. No heat dome here…but not complaining either, rather have cool nights and green pastures than hot and crunchy this time of year.
You are still dealing with CNN? Almost every article blames "climate change" for the heat, though the record heat before was in 1888. Not sure I would believe much about anything CNN reports.
Pardon me, "media," but doesn't this happen from time to time... in the summer?... We used to call it a "heat wave" or an "inversion layer." Now it's a "potent heat dome" with hellish graphics befitting its climate hysteria...
That being said, heat waves are and always have been, well, HOT. Keep cool, Peter. Drink more than you think you need to. If you wait until you're thirsty to drink water, you've waited too long. Stay cool and pee pale...

Stay safe and well hydrated.
Piss stops are annoying but useful for preventing deep vein thrombosis from sitting too long.
Looking forward to your stories when you return.

If you pass through Northern Indiana (though I don't know why you would) stop by if you need a break.

Hydrate and stay cool!!!
The Weather Channel needs to start *naming* these domes.
And, yes, I do own stock in it, why do you ask?
The ceasefire in the Middle East may be a bright spot in your travel.

And remember ... If you can tell the color you need to be drinking more!
