He's not backward in coming forward.
Personally, I think Jussie Smollet made up the whole thing to attack President Trump's policies and make himself look good to the DEI/BLM/Antifa crowd. It's good to know some of his own people recognize that too, and aren't afraid to call him on it.

It may be that Dave is the only comedian who could do that skit, and I'm glad he did.
Don’t forget Megan Markel.
As I recall he was about to be fired from the show so he created the entire lynching fantasy for leverage against the showrunners.
One must admire Mr. Smollett's commitment to race-blind casting.
