Sunday morning music

I had no idea that one of my favorite Jethro Tull songs - "Wond'ring Aloud", from their 1971 album "Aqualung" - had an extended version.  I'd only heard the abbreviated version from the album.  However, there was a longer edit, on the 40th anniversary re-issue of the album.

That made my week to hear that.  After 55 years, an old favorite lives again!

55 years...that long ago? It doesn't seem like that, does it? Thanks for posting the extended version. I recall the shorter version from Aqualung.

Ouch. I remember listening to the original in the 6th form Common Room at my school.
It's hard to credit that it was so long ago.

Not everything on the wundernet is bad ... StandUp and Benefit should be a double album. This Was has a very different flavor (Cry You A Song, We Used To Know, and Serenade to a Cuckoo being among my favorites)

Actually, this is Wond'ring Aloud (Aqualung) with Wond'ring Again (Living in the Past) added to the end. I have always thought that these two pieces were part of one song because they sound so close. When I listened to your post, I thought I had heard the whole composition before. Play them in succession and you have what sounds like the version you posted.

Interesting.

Actually, there is a short transitional piece here not present in the concatenation. Sorry about that...

back in the late '60's-early '70's there was a '"vagabundo" that frequented the area around 18th & Penn. He was the spit'n image of Aqualung and was thus labeled by passerby. Never a panhandler, it was rumored that he skated by on limited funds from a relative.
Colorful area, there was fairly tall gent dressed as Abe Lincoln who would give you a penny if you asked and an older fellow who wore a foil covered crash helmet and carried a sign warning of radio waves. Then there were the marches, be-in's and even a pee-in or two.

Great Guns
