VDH brings the smackdown to the Los Angeles fires

Victor Davis Hanson calls the current and ongoing California wildfires "a DEI, Green New Deal Disaster, something out of Dante's Inferno".  In the blurb accompanying the short video below, he "discusses the mismanagement of resources, lack of effective forest management, and prioritization of diversity and inclusion over merit in firefighting efforts. He labels the situation as a 'systems breakdown' and warns of the larger implications for California's future."

It's a very succinct look at why and how the wildfires got so big, so quickly, and so far out of control.  It's less than eight minutes long, and well worth your time to watch it.

He concludes:

I don't want to be too pessimistic or bleak tonight, but this is one of the most alarming symptoms of a society gone mad, and if this continues and if this were to spread to other states, we would become a Third World country if we're not in parts already.

It's hard to argue with that, isn't it?

It has spread to other states. All you have to do is look at the major metropolitan areas that are already Third World countries to wit: Detroit, Baltimore, practically any city in New Jersey of any size, Richmond, Philadelphia, many parts of Atlanta etc etc etc. All BLUE.

Very hard to argue...

I'm sure that none of these 5000 homes were paid off. Time to find who owns those Mortgages and short those banks. They are about to be in trouble since there's no insurance and no Collateral in many cases.

Me, my wife, and sons are native Californians but in 96 my business moved me east. Most of our family are gone but some still remain in all parts. The state decline started after Reagan left as Governor. Nothing will change until a total collapse of the state and local Democrat party happens along with the Judicial system that is today fully liberal.

California is already a Third World country. Serving in the USAF allowed me to visit a few Third World Countries. Much of California has reached that status already. The Central Valley is already Mexico in many small towns like Arvin, Lamont, McFarland, and Delano.
I have no beef with Mexico per-se, but if I had wanted to live in Mexico, I'd have moved there. In many places in town, I hear more Spanish, than English, and a lot of Punjabi as well. California is lost. The Ethnic Minorities have figured out how to use our own elections against us, and are now forming Power Bloc's and openly voting against Native interests in favor of their own kind.

James Kunstler also has a good post today about the Cali fires, particularly the follow-on economic effects. Not just insurance costs, but others down the line. Unfortunately, this man-made disaster won't just affect the west coast fruits, nuts, and fat cats - it will affect average Americans.

Anyone who has spent any meaningful time in certain parts of many major cities can tell you that those areas already ARE Third World. And the disease is spreading rapidly.

Victor knows better.
Help me out, Peter.
47% of all the land in california, including almost all the forest land, and the national recreation area adjacent to the worst of the current fires, is federal land.

So tell me again, which party has run FedGov for 12 of the last 16 years...?

Califrutopia is filled with local versions of the same morons, who bear a large portion of responsibility for other screw-ups, but a heaping helping of this started and ended within 1000 yards of Lafayette Park, across the street from the Oval Office.

These aren't California fires, nearly as much as they're the result of Mr. Fraudulent's Merry Band of Foul-Ups (and yes, I cleaned that up for your blog).

Cheer up, JG.
If DJY appoint 2 more conservatives to the 9th Circus Court, the majority flips 180°, and nine western states return to Free America for another 10-30 years.

We're that close.

And 5000 liberal idiots just lost their housing in one district. that's going to change some election math in the next several election contests.
