after I started working at the VA. I found and bought a bunch of old ear phones at flea markets to do just that. I cut off the cord and keep one in my pocket. when finding a TV set with the damn view on, I try to slip one in when no one was watching. kind of weird that the view would be on Tv sets at the VA until you realized that the TV controls where controlled by the "staff" at the front desk of each dept. but it was fun to watch them mess with the TV trying to get the sound back on.
