Amazing video of "Nature, red in tooth and claw"


In a perfect example of being in the right place at the right time, a tourist captured this video of a jaguar attacking a caiman in a South American river.  Watch it in full-screen mode for best results.





I don't think the jaguar would be so cavalier about attacking a Nile crocodile in Africa . . .

Leopards have been know to attack crocodiles. And eat them too.

That cat seems to think that anything small enough that he can catch it just behind the skull is lunch. It looks like he's right so far.

I've seen video of Jaguars catching and killing larger ones than that. Don't know the differences well enough to say caiman vs croc, but the cats don't seem to care. Its always impressive as heck though!
