Congratulations to Ambulance Driver!
My bloggin' buddy, shootin' buddy and eatin' buddy Ambulance Driver has won the EMS Blog Of The Year title for 2011! He faced stiff competition, but his quality (aided by a little none too subtle bribery, not to mention negative campaigning) did the trick in the end.
Modest as always, AD selected a suitable quotation for his victory from a character who allegedly ensured that a great many people required urgent EMS assistance during his fictional lifetime! (Of course, the vast majority of them were probably in greater need of the coroner, but why split hairs?)
I note that AD's prize is a pair of Black Diamond X2 boots, which look like this:
It occurs to me that with the application of a little paint, and a bit of buffing, they could serve as a reasonable facsimile of these boots:
That, plus a change of costume from his EMS whites to something more . . . er . . . macho (not to mention a little working-out in the gym), might transform Ambulance Driver into a not unreasonable facsimile of the man who wore those gold-trimmed boots in the first place:
That should be enough to earn him an award as EMS Superhero Of The Year, too!
