On the road again

Heading homeward today, via another town for a halfway stop.  I won't be posting on the blog, obviously, but we'd appreciate the usual prayers for traveling mercies.  Thanks!

To give you something to think about, here's the tale of an Israeli couple who hid their two infant children in a hardened "safe room" in their home, then took up arms to defend them.  They killed seven Hamas terrorists who were trying to get in, but tragically they didn't survive the firefight.  Rescuers found their bodies, and the corpses of their enemies, and their (safe, living) children, hours later.

May their courage be an example to their country, and their memory a blessing to their children as they grow up.

The original Israeli article did not mention anything about the parents fighting and killing 7 terrorists, they were just killed after hiding their twins. I want to believe that they heroically fought and killed terrorists but this has a Ghost of Kiev feel to it. They were good parents who protected their children. I hope the best for their children.

It's come out that 2% of the Israeli population owned firearms. It was very difficult to get a license and if you got one, you could have 1 pistol and 50 rounds of ammo. Insanity.

What? Are they stupid? Now I'm not wondering anymore about the high vaxxrate. One of the reasons they give to the population is propably that some arab terrorist can't steal them, hmmm?

Sadly, I have to agree with Fred on this one.

Hamas must be crushed completely and utterly for all time. Israel has the will to do it today, and I think that they will. There will be a lot of tut-tutting from the left. It needs to stand as an example for future generations - like salting the Earth.

Oddly, the original article I read talked of their defense of their children. It was only in subsequent articles that it has not been mentioned.

These two parents were reported to be officers in the IDF. Thus THEY were allowed to possess the means to fight back. 99% of Israelis non in the IDF are banned from owning firearms. Want someone to blame for the success of this attack? Blame the Israeli government for disarming it's citizens. And blame the Israelis themselves for embracing the insanity of "collectivism" which demands the sheep be disarmed.
