Kyle Rittenhouse went somewhere to safeguard a friend's livelihood, went out to render aid, did not fire until attacked, attempted to extricate himself from the situation when the mob came after him, did not fire again until they caught up to him, ceased fire when they retreated, and then turned himself in afterward.
You can argue about his safety instincts (I'd say step 2 was a poor life decision for tactical reasons, but frankly that's also on the adults who let him do it), but if all 17-year-old males were like Rittenhouse the streets would be safer.

Sooo, how does October 31st fall on a Friday the 13th? What did I miss? Jean
@Jean: I suspect it's a tongue-in-cheek sort of meme rather than a factual one...
I cannot wait for the memes when those astronauts return on SpaceX. "If it is a Boeing, you ain't going..... Home, from space"
I'll bet those Marines certainly were "pitching a tent."
