Fears of civil war?

It looks as if fears of internal conflict, perhaps so severe as to qualify as civil war, are growing on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.  Yesterday the head of France's Directorate General of Internal Security issued a warning.

FRANCE is on the verge of civil war that could be sparked by the mass sexual assault of women by migrants, according to the country's head of intelligence.

Patrick Calvar, chief of the Directorate General of Internal Security, told members of the French parliamentary commission: "We are on the brink of civil war."

He said that the situation in France is on such a knife edge that it could just take one more major Islamist terror attack to lead to a huge right-wing backlash.

Speaking to the leading French newspaper, Le Figaro, Mr Calvar said: "This confrontation I think it will take place.

"Even another one or two attacks and it will happen. It therefore behooves us to anticipate and block all these groups."

He said that he feared an inevitable confrontation between the far right and Muslims poses more of a threat than terrorism.

. . .

Security experts in Germany have also warned Chancellor Angela Merkel that the middle class was becoming increasingly radicalised because of her open borders migrant policy.

There's more at the link.

Note that Mr. Calvar didn't call for tighter control of fundamentalist Islamic terrorists and their sympathizers, but spoke of 'anticipating and blocking' the right-wing groups he fears will confront them.  That's bass-ackwards, if you ask me . . . but he's not interested in my opinion.

A similar tension is growing in the USA between 'ordinary' citizens like you and I, and the radicals of Black Lives Matter and similar groups - aided and abetted by the mainstream media.  Gavin McInnes points out:

As the chaos unfolded late Thursday night in Dallas, I was struck by how many members of the media insisted the protest was peaceful and we have to remain calm ... The reason these reporters were acting like teachers is that’s how they see themselves ... Of course, the problem with thought control is you need to keep correcting the course. First they tell us “racism is alive and well” and we should be disgusted with our country, but when that starts a riot, they backpedal and tell us we’re overreacting. This is how socialism works. You circle-kick the pendulum away from a problem and when it goes smashing through the cuckoo clock, you scramble to swing it back the other way. The clowns on TV went to Cultural Marxism school so they’re not trained journalists. They’re trained socialists. This means they’re experts at propaganda and controlling the populace while having little or no interest in the truth.

. . .

Black lives matter, but so do the facts. Yes, innocent blacks are killed by police. I estimate about a dozen unarmed black men are killed by police each year, but only a small portion of them were not resisting arrest. How many were completely innocent is difficult to determine, but let’s say half. That means the threat of killer cops ranks up there with spider bites. The number of cops killed is over eight times higher. The stats get shifted around because blacks represent only about 13 percent of the population yet commit about half of all violent crime. It’s true that they are disproportionately stopped by police. It’s also true that there are a disproportionate number of problems with these stops. That doesn’t mean cops are corrupt—not even close. All it means is you’ve focused on a contentious area. We are totally obsessed with half a dozen black men as thousands die every year. A good 97 percent of black murders are at the hands of other blacks. As Paul Joseph Watson points out, “It would take cops 40 years to kill as many black men as those who died at the hands of other black men in 2012 alone.”

. . .

The mainstream media and politicians who poured gas on the fire are culpable for the five officers we lost in Dallas Thursday night, but that doesn’t mean we absolve the black murderers.

. . .

The beauty of being a small-government conservative and a libertarian is this stuff never comes up. We don’t care what your group’s genetic predispositions are. If you personally can do the job, welcome aboard. If you can’t, well, sorry, but welfare is only going to make things worse. We’ve seen what happens when the elites try to control people with propaganda and lies. It starts race wars. It may hurt journalists to know they wasted their time in college learning the merits of Marx, but it’s the truth. Like them he was a spoiled brat who never worked, and his system doesn’t work. Here in the real world we’ve learned the only thing that works is freedom, and that includes freedom from government programs meant to fix us. We’re losing our heads right now and socialism is a big part of it. Remember, if you’re not a socialist before you’re 25, you have no heart; if you are a socialist after 25, you have no head.

Again, more at the link.

The group Anonymous has called for a 'Day of Rage' on Friday, July 15th (that would be tomorrow) in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and those killed by police.  As Bearing Arms advises, I suggest we plan to be anywhere else rather than at the locations of those protests.  I'll be surprised if violence doesn't erupt in at least some of them . . . and if any of them were in my neighborhood, I'd be making sure that I was well armed tomorrow, ready, willing and able to resist any violence directed at me and mine.  I daresay many Americans will be doing precisely that, and I fully support their right to do so.

Both Europe and America are sitting around a metaphorical gunpowder keg filled with the explosive ingredients of faulty perceptions, grievances (whether real or imagined), and attitudes of entitlement that insist 'victims' are 'owed something' by the rest of society.  Those alleged 'victims', by their own actions, are tossing lit matches at that gunpowder keg.  Sooner or later one of them is going to land inside the keg . . . and then all hell will be out for breakfast.

I suggest you plan for that, prepare for that, and equip and conduct yourselves accordingly.

Peter

Sounds more like he's calling for the blocking of groups that would persecute Muslims in the wake of an attack by terrorists.

I can understand his logic, the Islamists and Africans are a threat to public safety but Leftists like the ones that run France don't actually care that much about public safety and in any case they are not a threat to the current ideological narrative and power base.

The Right is and as such is a greater threat.

Its the same in the US, drug dealers and Islamists and foreign spies and such abound but they can't/won't replace the current system but the White Right could.

You think Americans have been buying millions of firearms and stockpiling tons of ammunition in the past few years because they're suddenly really keen on duck or prairie dog hunting? I'd say the majority of those weapons are being bought because deep down most clear thinking men look around their world, look at history and see a storm on the horizon. They may not even be able to admit it to themselves and justify it with "I want to get this before it's banned" or "I just like shooting". Indeed both of those things are probably true but deep down they know those tools are probably going to have to be used for terrible work in the future. If not by them, definitely by their offspring. I would imagine this is what it felt in the US in the 1840s or 1850s. Or Rome in the 300s. Or Yugoslavia in the 1980s. Etc etc. God how I dread what is likely coming.

As for the French, didn't they settle the hash of a bunch of bothersome foreigners in the 60s by drowning a portion of them in seine?

And sweet merciful crap we know what the Germans and Russians are capable of if they get their kill on.

My grandfather used to say, to relatives from "up north" that we weren't still fighting the War Between the States. But we did hold onto our Confederate money, in case we decided to fight it again, and it came out different the second time.

Hopefully we can either finish this mess and get it all cleaned up, or head it off at the pass, because I don't want my grandchildren to have to clean up our mess!

How quaint, a protest at 7pm on a Friday at the DIAG - which is on the University of Michigan Campus in Ann Arbor. At least there they will be protected by the armed police of both the City and the University. They couldn't be bothered with going to Detroit? Guess that would be an inconvenient trip. Of course the left in A2 won't be armed, unlike those folks in the D.

Scores run over in Nice, France, while watching Bastille Day Fireworks?

Unless the driver was Minnie Mouse, M. Calvar may have his hands full.

Another hundred innocents murdered in France by foreign invaders. Europeans slaughtered millions of their own cousins with abandon in the 20th century alone. Those were in many ways just family squabbles. If they drop the civility and political correctness and truly "cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war" against the invaders and the enablers in their midst the blood letting is going to be simply staggering.
