I read this report with unalloyed skepticism.
Los Angeles County reported Monday that over 27% of the signatures submitted on petitions to recall District Attorney George Gascón were invalid — after reporting that less than 1% of mail-in ballots were invalid in the 2020 election.
The county reported that it rejected 195,783 of the 715,833 signatures submitted, roughly 27.3%. The reasons given included that some voters were found to be unregistered; incorrect addresses were given; or signatures did not match those on file.
. . .
Recall proponents complained that they were not allowed to watch the signature verification process, after county officials said they were not required to allow observers since the petition drive did not qualify as an “election” under state law.
There's more at the link.
If you think that those petition signatures were honestly, fairly and openly evaluated; if you believe that the result of the evaluation is fair and honest; if you're convinced that the Los Angeles County electoral officials are pure as the driven slush . . . then I have a bridge in Brooklyn, NYC that I'd like to sell you. It's a real bargain! Cash only, please, and in small bills.
A few weeks ago I warned that "November 2022 will see electoral manipulation like never before". I've seen nothing to make me change my forecast: in fact, news like this makes me even more sure of it.
Don't expect the mid-term elections to save us. I fear they'll only confirm that we won't get rid of the fraudulent, illegitimate regime in Washington through the ballot box. Sterner measures will be required.

Spot on.
2020 was the exemplar.
2022 and following will be the acid test proof.
And "sterner measures" are going to leave a mark.
It may well prove to be painfully obvious that the US has already had its last free and fair election.
Nearly half of the country will think that this is a good thing.
I am not so convinced fellas God is on our side.
It’s disgusting.
And the head of voting in LA County is from WA, where he kept counting till they “found” enough votes to install a Democrat Governor. Then he resigned after that fiasco.

This group was not conservative, as the first petition backers were. This group was more Leftist.
What any group challenging the status quo is have lawyers present and aggressive as possible from the start. As well as protests and frame the narrative. It’s too late when they are in reaction mode, and the narrative has been set.
So the new bar is not "10% more than needed", or "20% more than needed", but maybe "50% more than needed". It would and hopefully will be interesting to see what comes of this as the lawyers for the recall are working on that end of it.
It is pretty much a given that when you are collecting signatures you make a big deal out of telling people that they must be a registered voter so how does some tens of thousands of people not realize this when signing.
How signature matching works on a recall petition is open to discussion since you are standing there signing in a little tiny space on a clipboard in a parking lot.
And yeah, I would be less suspicious if they didn't reject <1% of ballots during an election, when it really matters.
California has been the standard for shady elections for awhile. Try to do some of their shenanigans like ballot harvesting as a Republican and they'll call for a new election.
New Rule Of Thumb- If the count was not observed by all involved the count was crooked.
"I am not so convinced fellas God is on our side."
I believe the "hedges" are down too.
"I am not so convinced fellas God is on our side."
Romans 1, along with a heck of a lot of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Hosea, lead me to consider the question on its merits. I conclude it depends on what one means by "our," and on what one expects "being on our side" will look like. Remember that God was on the side of Peter, Paul, and the other martyrs.
