It's a good thing that wasn't the stinging kind . . .

I'd hate to come across a man-sized jellyfish like this.

I've been stung by what we used to call "bluebottles" in South Africa, small jellyfish that could inflict a painful wound.  The thought of a bluebottle that size is enough to make me shiver!

There's a art shop in my little town, and there's some guy who sculpts jellyfish out of wood and wire. There's a magnificent 6-footer, and a smaller one, and I don't even want to look at the price on either.

I see these, and I always want to ask the evolutiontards why it is that we don't have stinging cells.
The utility is obvious.

Man O' War. Those things hurt like hell!

Opportunity costs, among other things. I don't see any utility for a land animal -- every single you brush up on something, they'd fire. Our lives aren't like floating in water.

Portuguese Man O'War float at the surface using a gasbag. This is a true jellyfish.

Gas bag? So they're aquatic politicians?
