Benghazigate - the plot thickens

I'm sure readers have been following developments in the proposed Congressional inquiry into the Benghazi attack last year.  Some are now referring to it as 'Benghazi-gate', in the Watergate tradition.  Francis Poretto provides an excellent summary of the current 'state of play', including many of the questions so far unanswered.  He concludes:

If the above-interviewed Special Operator is telling the truth, the Obama Administration made a policy decision to sacrifice four American lives, including that of an ambassador, to cover up its own wrongdoing. I can't think of an uglier episode in American foreign policy history, unless it was the Alger Hiss / Harry Dexter White orchestrated surrender of Eastern Europe to Stalin at Yalta in 1945.

This sort of knockoff reportage is uncharacteristic of Liberty's Torch, which is principally an opinion-editorial site. However, an outrage such as this demands the attention of every thinking American, for which reason the usual bloviation is suspended for this morning in favor of... well, outrage.

We must know what happened, and why.
We must know who authorized what and who forbade what.
We must hold anyone in the chain of command responsible for his decisions.

There's much more at the link.  Intriguing reading.  Recommended.

That's a very good read. I'm going to read it again when I have a little more time.

Thanks for the post.

Don't hold your breath on Benghazi answers. They're still stonewalling on Fast and Felonious, and show no signs of budging.

I'm trying to figure out which was the more treasonous administration now... the one that allowed ICBM technology to go to communist China in exchange for campaign funds, or the one that shipped arms to narco-terrorists waging war against a friendly (and neighboring) nation, then proceeded to abandon our own citizens to islamo-terrorists, both at home and abroad.

... ol' Slick Willy is actually coming out with a touch of rosewater scent over the sewer smell in comparison.

I think that if we hound and harass without end, and finally get some measure of closure, F & F will follow. Holder has been holding out with the idea that he can, and covering up one death is a hell of a lot easier than covering up four, one being the handpicked Ambassador of a new President. Plus, you also have three other families clamoring for answers, not just one.
It just now hit me - maybe we should start a prayer chain, just like we have for our country at 6:00 p.m. local time. If we want answers, we can't just sit here and complain and gripe, we have to do something. Prayer would be our best option. Just saying.
