Your WTF? moment of the day
I could hardly believe my eyes when I read that Taco Bell is working on a new 'low-end' menu.
Taco Bell food has given me digestion problems every time I've eaten it, on half-a-dozen different occasions in four different states. Every. Single. Time. (On the last two occasions, I didn't know the food was from Taco Bell, otherwise I wouldn't have eaten it.) As a result, it's the only restaurant chain where I've sworn a mighty oath that I'll never eat again unless in otherwise unavoidable danger of starvation! I know I'm not alone in that attitude, too, judging by comments from more than a few friends and acquaintances.
Under the circumstances, if Taco Bell's regular, supposedly 'high-end' menu has had such disastrous results for me, there's no way on earth I'd touch their 'low-end' menu with a ten-foot disinfected bargepole! What say you, readers? Have your experiences there been similar to mine?

I have a similar problem with Hardees/Carl's Jr.
The saying when I was in college was "Taco Bell: It's Cheaper Than Food".
Doesn't cause me problems, but I tend to consider eating there a sign of self-loathing when I do it, so I try not to too often.
I used to eat there about once a week when I was younger and stupider.
I never had a problem - liked it just fine.
I haven't had their food in a number of years, though, and my standards are a LOT higher now.
Only if you're constipated, then it works.
I'm still ticked off that they discontinued the Chilito! >:(
I used to live on fast food. It's not a great way to eat, but I don't mind it. Considering the issues I've heard about, I must have a titanium stomach.
OMG, another reason NOT to eat there... sigh
Ate in a Taco Bell once outside of Charolette, NC.
I left and got into my car shouting a couple of times: "Never Again".
A guy with a black long coat and a beard was waling past at the time and shouted "Shalom".
"Next time tey the Pastrami on Rye and a Dr. Brown Celery at the deli down the street", he said with a smile.
I don't like Taco bell.
When I was 10 me, my brother, and my parents went on a trip. My brother and my father had Taco bell while me and my mom had Arby's.
I was stuck in a room with no ventilation, no way to open windows, and no fans for 8 hours that night with a 300 pound father who could turn chili into a chemical weapons factory.
I have never eaten taco bell, but I get the dry heaves even 11 years after the fact when anyone around me eats it.
I used to eat lunch at a real Mexican restaurant. You'd sit, get chips and fresh salsa and order beverages, (and your meal if you were ready). If you ordered from the lunch menu, it would be there a couple minutes later--before a car in the Taco Bell drive thru across the street made it out of the line. But there was still a line...The real place cost about a dollar more, but not only was the quality better there was more food.
Same for me, only McDonalds. If I must eat fast food, prefer Wendy's.
taco bell just kills my guts. since the late 70's have avoided them and let my kids talk me into going. what a mistake. did me in again. NEVER AGAIN.
I don't have digestive problems with it, but I just hate the food. Can't find a single meal there that I like, but since certain other family members happen to absolutely love the place I've been forced to find a couple I can choke down...
Next time we go I'm sorely tempted to see what it'd take to get them to just give me a stack of tortillas to eat. :P
Numerous surgeries have left me with tummy troubles. We live 25 miles, one way, from any fast food place so we enjoy the change and Taco Bell is a favorite.
I prefer their ground beef to the steak but other than that, it's a winner with us.
It's been a decade since I ate there; both me and the co-worker who insisted we stop there had the trots the next day.
If I want Mexican I'll make it myself or go to a real restaurant, TYVM.
taco bell and arbys on my list. bah
The last time I had something from Taco Bell, the food was so fast . . .
Well, that was almost 20 years ago, and nothing short of actual starvation could tempt me back.
I don't like anything at McDonald's except the Sausage McMuffin. Arby's is OK, but bland. Burger King was a treat until they changed their french fries a few years ago. (Probably a good thing for my health, though.) Wendy's is just too greasy for me. I sort of like Chick-Fil-A, but mostly I just pack a lunch.
Taco Hell, it's where bad tacos go when they die.
Never had a problem with Taco Bell. Taco John's makes me sick- literally.
I used to eat at Lydia'a on Silver Strand slightly north of the border. I watched the cook drop my food on the floor and put it on the plate after thinking she was unobserved; it was still delicious. I miss Lydia's. Dammit, now I'm hungry...
Half a century ago (well almost) I would get a couple of bean burritos with cheese and lettuce.
Sometimes no extra charge sometimes a few cents extra.
A good somewhat balanced meal for less than a buck and a half, two bucks if I wanted a drink.
Now I too avoid the joint.
Sorry. I was under the impression that 'digestional issues' were a feature of eating Taco Bell. :P
