Ice-skating with chainsaws???


Courtesy of Popular Mechanics, we come across this novel method of propelling oneself across the ice.





What I want to know is, what happens if he cuts a little too deeply?  One has visions of the ice separating beneath him, and his feet getting wider and wider apart, until . . .

Well, not really. Not with the ice as thick as THAT clearly is. On the other hand, it does have a special "Hey, y'all, watch this!" flavor for those who aspire to replicate this in warmer environs..

You obviously have not lived where lake ice is so thick you have to add an extension to a three-foot ice auger, have you?
