Here's something rather different, courtesy of Australian reader Snoggeramus. It's the famous "Largo al factotum" from Rossini's opera "The Barber of Seville" . . . played on a rubber chicken!
So help me, I'll never be able to get my hair cut again with a straight face . . .

Just what I needed this morning. A good laugh. Thanks.
I'm reminded a bit of the work of Julliard trained composer and musician Peter Schickele, AKA PDQ Bach. While he is quite good at what he was trained at that renowned school, he also has something of a wacky sense of humor. I saw him live some years back. He made his entry climbing down a rope from the balcony. Pretentious is not his description.

.....from the perpetrator's website:
"....Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Vinheteiro has a veterinarian college degree, but his commitment to music never allowed him to work as a pet doctor."
Bet your cat's happy.

I think that piece was defined in my mind by Bugs Bunny in the Rabbit of Seville. This is an epic adaptation, but Bugs is my standard.
I don't know if you grew up with Bugs in South Africa, but I think for a certain age cohort of Americans (the baby boomers), virtually all of classical music was defined for us by Looney Toons.
Yep, Looney Toons all grown up... :-)
He was majoring in animal husbandry till they caught him at it
I was in poultry husbandry...they egged me on.
Peter,
I watched it. It was better than viewing the Three Stooges with Dad. Now everything is Chicken. I need help.
