Gathered during the past 7 days of Internet wandering.
Actually the meteor crater is worth the cost to get in and see it in person, if you're out that way. Not too far from "Standing on the corner park" in Winslow, AZ and close enough to the South rim of the Grand Canyon. There is a fair amount of free/dispersed camping in the area (Winslow to Grand Canyon NP) too.
