Sunday morning music

I came across this performance of Beethoven's Fifth Piano Concerto earlier this week on another blog.  I'm afraid I don't remember which blog, so I can't give credit for the link, but it was a lovely performance, and I thought I'd pass it on to my readers this morning.

Lovely!

Bravo!! This movement brought back such a pleasant memory; I had just started dating my wife-to-be, and we were at her apartment and she played this piano concerto while we were dining. I had heard it before, but until I was in her presence I had never felt the passion of this piece, and it instantly became one of our go-to pieces of music when we traveled together or simply had dinner. Thirty-five years later, we are still together and have survived so many things -- cancer for both of us, family tragedies, ups and downs -- but music like this has sustained us throughout.

Thank you for posting this, it was a nice 20 minutes spent on a Sunday morning here in east Tennessee.

I hate to spoil your Sunday; but the news from South Africa is not good.

Hi, Amahl. Do you mean your wife-to-be was playing it on the piano herself while eating dinner at the same time?! If so, I think she did Grimaud one better.

Do you get a chance in East Tenn. to go to concerts like this? Knoxville must have an orchestra. Anything similar in Johnson City or Kingsport?
