Disney strikes (out) again

When are the politically correct idiots at Disney finally going to realize that if they continue to foist "woke" entertainment on us, they're going to go bankrupt?

Disney’s "Peter Pan and Wendy" was lambasted across social media after its first trailer Tuesday featured female Lost Boy characters.

The preview of the latest live-action remake appeared to follow similar story beats of the original J.M. Barrie story until the characters reached the fabled Neverland. Upon coming face-to-face with the Lost Boys, Wendy (played by Ever Anderson) commented that the kids are not just boys.

"But you're not all boys," Wendy remarked.

"So?!" One of the girls replied.

This change to the century-old original story, caught the attention of several social media users who attacked it as another attempt by Disney to push inclusive politics.

. . .

Another Twitter user kwaylewis commented, "Looks terrible. Hook looks bad, Tinkerbell isn’t Tink and the Lost Boys became girls now?"

The Forces of Light Entertainment channel explained, "The whole point of Wendy and Tinker Bell was to include girls in the appeal of Peter Pan. Lost ‘boys’ being girls is just stupid…Girls were already included in this world."

YouTuber Jayne Theory wrote, "The Lost BOYS are girls now, smh... And considering the rest, I'm genuinely surprised they didn't just name the film ‘Wendy,’ at this point."

"The diversity nonsense at Disney continues. Peter Pan is now Indian. Tinkerbell is black. The Lost Boys now have girls among them. Truly a reflection of the UK in 1911, exactly as JM Barrie envisioned," writer Noble Brown tweeted.

There's more at the link.

The sheer, purblind stupidity of these people continues to amaze.  Do they really think that an absolute classic like "Peter Pan" can be "modernized", leaving out or changing many of its most fundamental elements, without arousing the ire of everyone who knows and loves the original work?  Perhaps they don't care about that.  Perhaps they're more interested in riding roughshod over classical sensibilities, and forcing their perspective on everyone else, no matter how indigestible we may find it.

Suffice it to say I won't be spending my money on the new Peter Pan adaptation (or anything else Disney, for that matter).  I'll spend my money on those who have more respect for me, and don't treat me as an appendage to society to be propagandized at (their) will.

Remember, as Sara Hoyt loves to say: Roll Left then Die.
The folks running Disney are just making sure they're lining up their next job.

I could be wrong but I thought a corporation's obligation was to maximize shareholder's return on investment. If so, we need to see class action lawsuits against these companies

The Lost Boys were supposed to have been boys that fell out of their carriages... I believe the line explaining this to Wendy, who had asked where the girls were went something like "girls are far too clever to fall out of their carriages".

It's Hollyweird, and it's run by gender-confused twenty-somethings with no effing clue about their audience, and couldn't find "normal" with a GPS and a telescope.

If we're making a show for dykes in Frisco, West Hollyweird, or NYFC, they're soooooooo trendy.

But for older folks and most families with kids, they've got a lead ear, an empty cashbox, and they're pulling out their blue and purple hair trying to figure out where they keep going wrong, and chalking it up to everyone else being "wrong" and "haters".

The only way to save Disney, at this point, would be if the LDS bought it out wholesale, and even then they'd probably still screw it up.

It was fun while it lasted, but the idiots in charge are going to fly it into the ground at full speed, and look shocked and confused after the inevitable flaming wreck catastrophe.

They couldn't go much farther astray if they paroled Ghislaine Maxwell and put her in charge of the whole operation.

I won’t be spending any $ to see the Lost Persons.

The goal isn't just to push the woke agenda. If that doesn't work the secondary goal is to destroy classic American culture and values. Evil men who can not have power will destroy their society in order to rule over the ashes.

And from their training manual -

(I wonder if our lot in Oz has a duplicate slide set?)

"The Decline And Fall Of The American Empire"

"Now we know how the Romans felt under Caligula.

The RealClear Defense article cites official U.S. Army training PowerPoint slides, which were originally uncovered by the Wall Street Journal, and notes that they cover various “vignettes,” such as what Commanders should do if “a ‘female to male’ soldier announc[es] a pregnancy.” RealClear Defense also explains that the PowerPoint slides cover a scenario where a “male to female” soldier, who successfully transitioned and is officially recognized as such despite not having gender reassignment surgery, “wants to use female-designated showers.” “Another scenario describes a female soldier who is experiencing tension with a ‘transgender female’ roommate.”

Though to be fair, even Caligula knew a horse from an ass."

Don't get me started on Netflix and the mixing of races in Historical dramas! Started to watch Jane Austen's "Persuasion", half of the characters were either of Indian or of African/Carribean descent, in 1814 England! Imagine the outcry if an obviously white person was to replace a character who was originally African.

Down here in Australia just about every TV advertisement now must include someone who is either African American or African, despite the fact that there is a very small population living in this country. Interestingly, there is almost never someone shown who is of Aboriginal descent?

When disney is driven into the ground that will be the success benchmark management is looking for. Their goals are much different than anything we can imagine.
