Sunday morning music

Here's another classical piece, played by a Georgian lady.  Wikipedia describes her:

Born in 1987 in Batumi, Georgia, Khatia Buniatishvili began studying piano under her mother at the age of three. She gave her first concert with Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra when she was 6 and appeared internationally at age 10. She studied in Tbilisi with Tengiz Amirejibi and in Vienna with Oleg Maisenberg at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Her older sister, Gvantsa Buniatishvili, is also a pianist, and they have played together on numerous occasions.

Here she plays Grieg's Piano Concerto in A Minor, with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse conducted by Tugan Sokhiev.  It's one of the finest renditions I've ever heard.

A lovely way to start your Sunday.

Peter

As I progress thru life (code for growing older), I have developed an appreciation for music that isn't based on screaming electric guitars.
This young lady's playing is very talented, but i feel the piece turned into an over-orchestrated 'event'.
My newfound musical tastes are far simpler...let me share this with you : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8KkNnggaEE&list=PLP0IenmeCOtzbm_-WucUeTWjzBnCsqtek
I usually start in the middle w the one titled 'Variazion Di Un Tango' and go from there.
Enjoy
