I absolutely could not believe this story!
Even after reading and re-reading this story, I still can't wrap my brain around it. It seems that in Thailand, cosmetic companies are marketing creams to lighten the vulva.
Why?
What on earth could justify so frivolous and pointless an expenditure? What's wrong with leaving your organs the color God and nature made them? What sort of man would base his attraction for a lady on the color of her genitals, for heaven's sake?
On the other hand, I suppose a world that accepts the concept of anal bleaching might actually find this worthwhile. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong century . . .

*shakes head* ... the world seriously has gone mad!
No different from tanning, getting a tattoo, or any other alteration of the body to suit personal preference. What's the big deal?
Note: in thailand, it's considered pretty / beauty ideal to be light of skin, possibly because hard workers get very tanned in the sun (this is similar to medieval through victorian ideals in europe).
Their sunblock lotions typically include things to bleach the skin as well(which is why, as a tourist, it's best to bring yours from home!)
Some of the rich girls are pale enough to pass for japanese.
Ditto on Mikael.
My girlfriend couldn't find any face moisturiser that wasn't also skin whitening while there on holiday.
I guess it's the same thing as avoiding tan lines, maybe taken a bit far.
As for anal bleaching...who the hell knows.
Btw, what did you type into google to find these articles?
;)
When the darker toned woman goes through pregnancy, certian areas darken permanently, including the mentioned areas. Before pregnancy, these areas are much lighter like the rest of her skin. I think it's possible they are looking to regain a "youthful" appearance. To roll back the clock so to speak.
I am married to a darker skinned Latin beauty. Experience speaking.
