Some amazing pictures from space
The Verge has published a photo gallery of fascinating images provided by NASA. I've picked this one as a sampler of the whole, and reduced it to fit this blog. It's of a coronal mass ejection (related to a 'solar flare') from the Sun on August 31st last year, showing the Earth to scale against the enormous size of the eruption (which is well over a million miles in height).
