Competing visions of reality

Thomas Sowell is one of the most important thinkers of our time, IMHO.  He's published many books, and proved a prescient observer of our political and social scene.

Here's a video interview he did last month, which analyzes two competing visions driving our politics and social policies.  I think it's important viewing, to put our present dilemma in perspective.

If you have friends and family that parrot the "party line" about our problems, without taking other factors into account, you could do worse than invite them to view that video, and use it as a talking point.  Of course, those who are "true believers", committed to a particular perspective no matter what, won't want to do that;  but those who do might be open to rational discussion and debate, which is not a bad thing.

Thanks for the link. I will watch it this evening, even though I have little patience for video. I am a reader, and can read in five minutes what takes an hour of spoken word. I have enormous admiration for Sowell's genius, and his books take up 18 inches of shelf in my library. Sowell, like Clarence Thomas are so far to the end of the bell curve of intelligence it's impossible to say how many standard deviations they are from the mean.
