Errrr... oops?

It's all very well to tow a stuck vehicle back onto the road . . . provided that other road-users can see what's going on, and avoid problems.

Cyclists tend to keep their heads down, rather than up and looking around.  This becomes a problem.  Twitter user AnarchyDreams shows us how.  Click over there and see for yourself.

Errrr... oops?

Tow truck driver should've used something more than a trash can to block the road ... maybe an actual person stopping traffic?

I can understand not seeing the cable, mostly because you are looking at the two trucks and figuring out whats going on. But the road was obviously being blocked so the usual behaviour of zipping around vehicles and people and not following traffic rules incentivised them to keep going.
Do stupid things, win stupid prizes.

it seems to me that far too many bicyclists feel that their Virtuous Ghost Dance negates any need to consider the laws of Physics. OR traffic laws.

Tow truck driver will be paying! Did not have any flags or cones out. Should have had someone waving people off. Still funny, just look at the 3 Stooges.

If that had been a group of lard-arse retiree motorcyclists on their Honda Goldwings or electric Harleys faceplanting over a tow cable like that, would you all be laughing?

That was textbook negligence; easily preventable and truly horrible to watch. Chances of some really serious injuries there and two of those men really hit the asphalt.

Yeah, some "MAMILs" can be a real pain in the backside, but that situation was freaking horrible.

I bet those cyclists left skid marks as they headed for their lawyers office to file suit...

Douchebag I grew up with died in a situation like that. He was operating the tow truck and a car snapped the cable, cutting him in half.

And so would you, or anyone here if you'd suffered anything more than mild road-rash from this incident.

That crash was no joke.

Likely these guys have broken bones, lacerations, probably concussion and thousands in damage to their bikes (likely totally wrecked if carbon fibre) caused by utter negligence from Dodgy Brothers Towing Pty Ltd.

Funny to watch fat, old retired boomers fall from their Harleys like that? The fat-boy skid marks they'd leave on the way to their lawyers would be alight !
