Force becomes Farce, redux

Some readers may remember this blog post from January 22nd:

According to a report in the British Daily Mail, it seems that in North Wales brothers Barney and Daniel Jones have established 'the Holyhead chapter of the self-styled Jedi Church, which claims up to 400,000 members worldwide'.

Barney, age 26, is now known as 'Master Jonba Hehol' while his brother Daniel is 'Master Morda Hehol'. Together they are the 'ministers' of the new church.

Well, the brothers were in the news again last month:

A man posing as Darth Vader attacked a Star Wars fan who had founded a Jedi Church, a court has heard.

Arwel Wynne Hughes, 27, from Holyhead, Anglesey, admitted assaulting Barney Jones and cousin Michael with a metal crutch. They suffered minor injuries.

Hughes, who was drunk and dressed in a black bin bag, shouted "Darth Vader!"

Earlier, when Hughes failed to arrive on time, District Judge Andrew Shaw issued an arrest warrant, adding: "I hope the force will soon be with him."

I do like the judge's sense of humor! There's a video clip of the assault at the link, for those of a prurient interest.

Today Hughes was given a suspended jail sentence, and will probably undergo some form of alcohol counseling and/or rehabilitation.

I'm not particularly impressed by the performance of the wannabe Jedi's, I'm afraid. Inexorable Force Of Mind meets Inebriated Intoxicated Inanity - and loses. The video clip shows it clearly.

*Sigh*

Master Yoda would not be pleased . . .
