Bananas as relay batons?

Here's another weird Japanese game show, this one involving bananas, buttocks and relay racing. (Yes, I think it's safe for work!)

Who thinks up these things, anyway? In this case at least, he certainly displayed a fruitful imagination . . . and it certainly seems to have had audience a-peel!
