More from Storm Doris: eight aborted landings

Following my previous post, about landings and take-offs during Storm Doris at Birmingham airport in the UK earlier this year, here's another video showing eight landing attempts that were aborted due to the crosswinds.

Again, I'm glad I wasn't aboard any of those planes!

I've seen better landings during a good Typhhon Signal 3 at the old Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong.

There's a good reason why Hong Kong retired that Kai Tak. For one thing it was build back in 1928 and never meant to handle the amount of traffic it saw. And there this nice 10 story building at the end of the runway that the city have been tried to knock down since the advent of civilian jet planes. They finally gave up and build a new airport in a reclaimed island far away from all of the tall buildings and mountain.

Am I the only one who thinks of the scene in Serenity which goes:

Pilot: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define interesting.
Pilot: Oh god oh god we're all gonna die?
Mal: Just get us on the ground.
Pilot That part's definitely gonna happen.....
