It sounds like President Trump brought the smackdown to Republicans in Congress

At least, that's what DC Whispers reports.

“You really want to try and win your election in November without me? I don’t think so.”

UPDATE: “I’m following the law as it’s written. If you don’t like the law then Congress needs to change it. It’s simple. Simple. I’m with you but if you don’t like it you need to do something about it…It looks bad. Sure. Really bad. If you want to change that then change the law. DO SOMETHING. You people (Congress) have to change it. That’s how it has to be done.”

. . .

UPDATE #3: “Why is this coming up now? I mean, it’s so obvious am I right? Mitch knows. The economy, jobs, North Korea, there’s so much great news they had to do the fake news. I’m not saying the pictures aren’t bad. They’re bad. Certainly not good. They make it look bad. You have to do something. You have to work together. It could be such a big, beautiful thing if you did that. The Democrats won’t help. We all know that. They think this is good for them. We’ll see about that. But doing something, working together, isn’t that why you’re here? It should be. And if you don’t do that and November doesn’t work out for you then I’m sorry but you shouldn’t be here. Go do nothing somewhere else.”

There's more at the link.

"Go do nothing somewhere else."  I wonder when last (if ever) a President has spoken to his own party's representatives so harshly?  Yet, I think it was deserved.  If they won't get off their backsides and do what they were elected to do, then let them go to the wall, and let's find better representatives to replace them.

I wonder, frankly, if the issue is resonating with the voters quite as much as the Democrats might hope. I'm running into a lot of "If you don't want to be separated from your kids, don't break the law."

I think the Democrats badly underestimated how many people were sick of haring excuses about illegal immigration back in 2016. I think they badly overestimate how many are seriously moved by the plight of illegals now. Even if Trump can't get the puff guts Republicans off their fat asses now, I think the Democrats are going to have a VERY disappointing 2018. If he DOES get the Republicans in congress of their well upholstered backsides, and the Democrats do their usual and while and quibble and vote against, then the Democrats might have a DEVASTATING 2018.

I'm making popcorn.

If you don't want to lose your kids, do NOT break the law!!! It is not difficult folks. Citizen or immigrant, legal or not, it doesn't matter. Follow the law, keep the kids.

And, now the MSM has whined enough that Trump did an executive order, but (and it is a big but) if the illegal families are not processed in 20 days, the kids are put in one detention center, the adults in another.

Stop the damn migration, and have those folks stay home and fix their own country instead of coming here and mucking up ours!! Do we offer to help clean out the gangs in El Salvador, et al? Donald needs to be talking with the president of the countries of Central America to negotiate a cessation to this migration north. Fix the problem, not just the symptoms!!! Build the damn wall!!!

Never vote for a Democrat. Never vote for an incumbent. Problem should solve it self soon enough.

And now the Democrats are screaming because with Trump's EO, instead of being separated, the kids will be detained along with their scofflaw parent(s).

And I think that's why Trump issued the EO. The Democrats just can't help themselves. They will make explicit that the only thing that will make them happy is to release the parents+children into the country. I think there's less support for that option than the Democrats imagine.

I would also like to think that there is WAY less support than BOTH the Evil (Democrat) Party as well as the Stupid (Republicrat) Party believe for letting the families loose into the country to wreak their financial and cultural havoc upon us US. There are a lot of evil, stupid, and evil stupid Americans out there, in case you haven't noticed. And between the Evil Party and the Stupid Party, they both want pretty much the same thing. The status quo. No upsets.
