Here's a treat for classical music lovers. It's a twofer by Beethoven. First, his Triple Concerto for piano, violin, cello and orchestra. Soloists are Daniel Barenboim on piano (who also conducts the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra), Itzhak Perlman on violin, and Yo-Yo Ma on cello. I think it'd be very hard to find three more stellar performers to play this well-known concerto together.
The Triple Concerto is followed immediately by Beethoven's Choral Fantasia for piano, orchestra and chorus. The other two soloists retire for this work, leaving Barenboim to lead the performance on piano. The Fantasia begins at about 37m. 45s. into the video.
Lovely!
Peter
