A link at Kim du Toit's blog reminded me of a group from the 1980's that I'd almost forgotten: Loverboy. The group had several hits during that decade before breaking up, then reforming in the 1990's and carrying on to this day. I can recall a number of their songs being played aboard South African military vehicles during operations in the region, with most of those singing along regarding themselves as the ultimate "loverboys" - a failing common to most young men!
Anyway, back to the memories. Here's one of their best-known hits: "Turn Me Loose".
They contributed "Heaven In Your Eyes" to the music soundtrack of the first "Top Gun" movie.
And finally, one that resonated (and still resonates) with many: "Working For The Weekend".
It's a long time since I thought about any of those songs. They bring back memories, some of a very unpleasant time in my life, but some nostalgic, too.

I saw them live in Calgary in 2013. Still sounded great but male pattern baldness and pot bellies don't go well with big hair and tight pants :)
Sigh... yep we're officially OLD!
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.
Yeah, we're older, and suffered casualties along the way, good friends no longer present...but we have memories and experiences these kids will never have, outside of video games, either...Me and my crew back then swore we were the inspiriation for "The Dukes of Hazzard"!
Somewhere, I still have the Get Lucky album on vinyl.
I did too. Until my basement flooded four days after my shoulder surgery. Then everything molded. Sad. Still.
