Stephan Pastis does have a way of illustrating reality, doesn't he? Personally, I'd nuke that alarm clock from orbit. It's the only way to be sure!

Obviously, a new alarm clock because it would have died the first time it went off beside my bed. I worked second or third shift all but two years I was employed just to keep one of those God forsaken things out of my room. (Hubby managed the Tool-of-Satan those two years.)
