When someone tells you what he stands for, believe him - and prepare accordingly

Here's Democratic Party state house candidate John Thompson, speaking at a Black Lives Matter protest outside the home of Minneapolis Police Federation President Bob Kroll in Hugo, MN on Saturday.  WARNING:  Profanity alert, to put it mildly!

For those who don't want to watch the video clip, here's a report.

Thompson, who is trying to represent the constituents of Eastside of St. Paul, set a hostile tone by stating, "I didn't come here to be peaceful."

Thompson said Kroll was a member of the Ku Klux Klan and even claimed he was the Grand Wizard.

"Why the f*** is we so peaceful in this [homophobic slur removed] neighborhood," Thompson shouted. "F*** your motherf***ing peace, white racist motherf***ers!"

One of the neighbors was holding a Blue Lives Matter flag and Thompson told him to "stick it up his a**."

Thompson suggested to the crowd that the entire town should be burned down. "This whole god***n state burned down for $20 goddamn dollars, you think we give a f*** about burning Hugo down?"

"Blue lives don't mean s*** to black people," Thompson said. "F*** Hugo, Minnesota!"

There's more at the link.

If I lived in Hugo, Minnesota, I'd make sure I kept a recording of that video, and forwarded it to my lawyer as well.  That way, if I saw Mr. Thompson and his friends marching through my streets, I'd be able to prove beyond any possible doubt that he and they had threatened the safety of myself, my family and my property.  If their actions suggested that they intended to follow through on those threats, such evidence would more than justify me in defending myself by any means legally permitted.

That sort of evidence can make the difference between a charge of murder, and a verifiable claim of legitimate self-defense.  When the enemy tells you what he's going to do to you, believe him - and prepare accordingly.

The same applies to everyone in any city or town in the country where extremists make such threats, or offer violence to anyone or anything.  Record what they say and do, make sure copies will be available in future, and plan how you're going to respond to their aggression if necessary.  That includes monitoring social media and recording what extremists are doing.

If you have to respond to such threats, make sure you can prove that the perpetrators were, indeed, a threat to the safety and security of yourself, your family and your property, out of their own mouths and by the evidence of their own prior actions.  Your lawyer will thank you for it.

(In case you were wondering, Mr. Thompson is far from alone in his naked aggression.  Here's another BLM speaker laying it on the line - and in her case, too, forewarned is forearmed.  "By any means necessary", huh?)

Kinda reminds me of this old Eddie Murphy SNL sketch.

Looked like a proper place and time to mount a McCloskey defense from the front steps.

You must take someone screaming such threats from in front of your castle as legitimate.

Always 'honor' the threat, by whatever means necessary...

Witold:

the cops discovered that Mrs McCloskey's pistol had been deactivated for a court case. They also found NO ammo at the house for that AR rifle.

All show and no go. Rich idiots. Their guns were about as effective as that gate the protestors entered through.

I'm sure McCloskeys ammo was out in the garden.
Didn't find it, dig deeper.

What a charming young man. Hope the only death he causes is his own.

Criticize them all you want, but I say they successfully defended their castle without firing a shot. That is a good day for everyone.

I may carry a firearm all the time, but I hope I never have to use it. That said, I will do whatever is necessary to prevent or stop any kind of threat.
