And don't complain about the C-130 seating until the bar that holds up the back of the troop seat snaps and hits you in the head, stunning you and ripping your scalp open.
The loadmaster just said, "Huh. Never saw that happen before."
My first flight was from Vung Tau to Bien Hua and we did it standing up. No problem with not having seat belts; we were packed in so tight that no one could fall over.
Ah, the seating on the C-130 is fine... Especially if you are flying OUT of a desert and back to the real world...
The Folgers thing reminds me of the "Ranger Coffee" we used to consume... Every MRE had the freeze dried packet of Folgers, so just dump into your mouth and take a swig of water from the canteen... Not good, but it was what we had...
On the other hand, flying space-A in a C5A Galaxy is quite nice. We flew from Rhein-Main to Dover on emergency leave, and it was one of the most comfortable flights I've been on. The only weird thing is the seats were backwards.

Try a c-130 with 120 Seabees going to Mcmurdo 1968.

My parent flew Space A a lot. Dad even got the grunts to send pics of himself and herself asleep on the deck.
