This video clip of Senator Rand Paul is worth watching. It's only a few minutes long, but it encapsulates so much of what's wrong with the Senate at present. (Yes, I know that Paul's a Republican complaining about Democrats; and yes, I agree that if the Republicans were in the majority, they'd probably be guilty of precisely the same shenanigans. That's why I headlined this post 'The trouble with most politicians', without specifying which party they belong to! They're almost all equally bad, I'm afraid.)
