Written from my hospital bed
It's almost 1 am, and I'm typing this on my cellphone. I'd hoped to be home by now, and had queued up what I thought were enough blog posts to cover my absence, but complications have arisen, so I have to stay in hospital vile longer than planned.
I underwent surgery to remove my gall bladder, but due to several delays, the darn thing had turned necrotic (i.e. was almost dead and rotting) by the time they got to it. I've got to stay in hospital until they're sure there will be no complications.
I should be out sometime on Friday. Regular blogging will resume ASAP.
Peter

I had mine out in May. It was also ugly and necrotic. In the ER at 19:00 for ultrasound where I could easily see the stones (shouldn't be anything solid in that part of my belly), hospital direct admit about 23:45, surgery 11:30 the following day after some IV antibiotics. I was home about 30 hours after surgery. The pathology report described the largest stone as being 2.2cm!
Lapriscopic surgery is amazing and I had an easy recovery including resuming a normal diet fairly quickly. I wish the same for you.
Get well soon, Peter!

Get well soon and watch for the hospital food. I here it turns people into a zombie. :)
Oh boy. Get well soon, and take it easy for a while. Your loyal readers will not abandon you.
Heal fast and well!
Get well and heal quickly - the blog can wait for that to occur. Hope your weekends is much better.
Saying some prayers for you, take care of yourself.
Also I know my hospital is death(no pun intended) on hospital acquired diseases, but don't be shy about asking anyone who is going to touch you to sanitize their hands no matter if they work there or not.
I'll be thinking of you today, and hoping for a problem-free discharge from the hospital.
I'm glad your having it removed. I hope you heal quickly. At least you have Internet access!
Feel better... Hope you have a note pad to write all those drug induces ideas down... Looking forward to seeing how Steve deals with the Purple Space Walrus.
Some people go to extraordinary lengths to get out of chores and house work, Pastor. ;)
Make it a speedy recovery!
Godspeed to you Peter.
Maybe a story line for your next book from this experience.
My prayers are with you.
Get well soon!
Heal quickly.

Wish you a speedy and safe recovery, and thanks once again for the many hours of enjoyment through reading your books.
Soon if you can, but the main thing is get well.
Aren't there songs about dying from the inside out? Sorry to hear you're in the hospital, but glad to hear it was successful. Recover quickly!
Yuck. I'd hoped you would be home by now. Get well soon!
Sorry to hear you're in the hospital. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
Get well first and don't worry about the blog.
FWIW, I had the same thing in June; emergency surgery, necrotic, gangrenous gall bladder, IV then oral antibiotics. It took a few weeks to get over it.
Well this is galling...
The thing is, you have no idea what people might get up to in your absence- you could come home and find a new airplane in the driveway..
So get better and get home soon!
Prayers sent up, rest easy this weekend, getting one's innards moved around is not fun. ;)
Get well soon
Take care of yourself Peter and get well soon.
Don't worry about the blog, your books, and prodding rump on LawDog to get his books out. All those things will come in good time once you are healthy again.
May God heal you rapidly, may He oversee the doctors' hands, and may He return you to hearth & home in short order.
Get well soon, you're grumpy... And Dot is grumpy... We'll take care of the light stuff until you're up and about. I'm pretty sure the nurses will be glad to get rid of you too...LOL

Hope that's not too accurate!
Get well soon.
Pretty serious stuff. Here's to a speedy recovery and a quick escape from their clutches.
I personally try to avoid hospitals like the plague infested killing wards they are.
People get all wound up about guns, if they only realized just how many people are killed by "Modern Medicine" in this country alone every year they would find something to truly be outraged about.
Free ice cream can wait, Peter. Get well! Prayers in-bound, eta 5min., Weapons free.....
Prayers and hugs for you and Miss D. Heal quickly!
Sheesh, the things people do to get out of mowing the lawn!
