President-elect Donald J. Trump

Step 1:  To President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid et. al., a great big fat -

You're fired!!!

Step 2:  Remember President Obama's immortal words?  When the GOP protested his policies, soon after his inauguration, he responded bluntly, "I won."  In other words, shut up and live with it.  One trusts President Trump will offer the same response to the bleeding-heart SJW's who will froth at the mouth as he implements the policies he's promised.

Step 3:  When it comes to approving his nominations for office, one trusts President Trump will, if and when necessary, follow the example of Harry Reid and the Democratic Party and ensure that his people aren't blocked by political maneuvering.  What's sauce for the goose, etc., etc.

It's not yet 'morning in America' again.  There's an awful lot of doom and gloom to dispel after eight years of socialist, progressive, liberal social engineering.  However, we can now roll up our sleeves and make a start.  We have a lot of work to do - particularly because the socialists, progressives and liberal social engineers will be doing working just as hard, if not more so, to overturn yesterday's vote in the next two to four years.  We need to uproot as much as possible of their poisonous seed from the garden of America before they can derail the process, and plant as much as possible, as deep as possible, to resist their depredations in future.

I don't know whether or not President Trump will be the right person, or even a good person, to get the job done.  I only know he can't possibly be as criminally disastrous a President as Hillary Clinton would have been.  For that at least, let us give thanks most humbly to Almighty God;  and let us pray for guidance for our President-elect and those he picks to serve in his administration.  Pray, too, that they have the wisdom and humility to seek such guidance, and to follow it.

Let's get to work.

Peter

Very well said. Bit priestly, even! :D

Jerry Pournelle corrects this to President Designate. He won't be President Elect until the Electors tally and turn the results over to the House.

Might I suggest that we bear in mind that as bad as we thought the last eight years have been, half the country is going to feel exactly the same way for the coming four years.

We need to fix things without the "in your face, mother*****" that has characterized the last terms.

A common saying is the "the right thinks the other guys are wrong; the left thinks the other guys are evil". For example, in the middle of those Project Veritas videos, that scumbag Robert Creamer went from casually talking about breaking federal election laws to saying the Republicans were evil because they were "racist as f**k". It's a warped worldview based on things that are factually wrong.

I don't know how it gets fixed, but Trump's tone in his acceptance speech sounded right. We have to fix it without the "I have a pen and phone, so f*** you" crap.

@SiGraybeard, that's exactly the opposite of what needs to happen. Since at least 1976, the way things have worked is that Democrats have operated on a no holds barred, pen and phone so F** you policy while Republicans have not done so. This has had the effect of continually reinforcing the bad behavior. It is well past time for them to get a taste of their own medicine.

George W Bush took the supposed high road and overlooked the Clintons' petty thefts and vandalism and misuse of classified data (remember Sandy Berger?) when they left office in 2000. It looked magnanimous but it was a mistake that bought us 16 more years of the same garbage. It's time to clean house. Investigate, prosecute, imprison. No clemency. No magnaminity. Find all of the dirty tricksters and election fixers and put them out of business. There may not be another chance.

Obama, Harry Reid and the Democrats brought us 8 years of reckless disregard for separation of powers and comity. Treating that as if it never happened would be a grievous mistake. Make them feel the reason for separation of powers. Make them beg for checks and balances. Make them squeal. It is the only way to return to a constitutional order of separation of powers and limited government. And if they're still not interested and we cannot go back to the limited government of checks and balances envisioned by the founders, then let's make sure that whatever comes next is on our terms not on theirs.

Both of you have keyed in on the underlying problem we've had for over 150 years;

"...My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union..." - Abraham Lincoln, Letter to Horace Greeley, Aug 22nd, 1862

A house divided against itself shall not stand. What you have is an increasingly polarized populace. This will never be fixed. What we need is a divorce from one another. If only ideologies could be separated by geography...

Disagree entirely. Ignore the Communists' wishes entirely. If they're for it, oppose it. We have been "compromising" with those who devoutly wish to destroy us for over 80 years.

Every time we met them halfway, they simply walked backwards, and made us meet them halfway again. It's time to start moving the goalposts back to where they should be - on different sides of the 50 yard line.

To compromise with communists is the same as mixing sugar with arsenic. No more compromise. No more retreat. No more surrender. The only way we win this, the only way we survive what they have planned for us, is to go on the offensive, take back lost ground, and win.

Trump needs to CLEAN HOUSE! Get rid of every damn Democrat bureaucrat that can be found, in addition to getting rid of unneeded departments or agencies. No playing nice with those anti-Constitutional bastards. TOSS EVERY CHAIR SITTING BOZO IN DC.

The correct response to this "racist as f**k" is "So? That is basic human survival."

I am so grateful. But, my heart goes out to the people who lost their race. I know exactly how they feel and how frustrated and angry they must be. I was so upset, I became ill - not just for a week, I was so stressed my cancer reappeared! I truly pray these let-down hopefuls will be able to work through their disappointment and grief and fury.
