Schooling the anti-Trump protesters

I confess to being utterly baffled by the sheer stupidity of the anti-Trump protesters, as evidenced every night by their shouted slogans and incomprehensible behavior.  Take this, for example:

Listen up, buttercup.  You DO NOT have the right to stop traffic in order to drive home (you should pardon the expression) your protest.  If you try, you need not be surprised if some driver runs into or over you, because the last thing he's expecting is for someone to behave like a hydrocephalic moron on the highway!  If I'd been in that car, and suddenly found myself confronted by a mob of people screaming things I couldn't make out and behaving threateningly, I'd have had no idea what was going on and little or no time to avoid them.  If I hit one, I think I could make an excellent case for self-defense, if called up on to do so.

As for their attitudes and expectations . . . what can one say?  The New York Post says it politely.

Pity the anti-Trump protesters thronging the streets of American cities.
Apparently, no one ever told them that they live in a geographically, economically and ideologically varied nation and that about half of its inhabitants might support a Republican candidate for president. They mistook the country for the campus of Oberlin College.

. . .

The level of self-awareness of the protesters isn’t high. Some hold signs reading, “This is what democracy looks like.” It is true that the right to peaceful assembly is a key aspect of any liberal democracy (even if some protesters need to work on the “peaceful” part), but as an illustrative exercise in democracy, you can’t beat the national election last Tuesday that has so exercised anti-Trump protesters.

. . .

One anti-Trump protester was seen the other day holding a sign reading, “Your vote was a hate crime.” It’s hard to imagine a better distillation of the coercive small-mindedness that prevails on college campuses. This attitude ensures a state of perpetual shock and outrage at the lived reality of a continental nation of more than 300 million free men and women.

. . .

Trump’s critics are certain that he is the champion of a blinkered worldview. But the election and its aftermath show that it is the self-styled citizens of the world who need to get out more.

There's more at the link.

In his own inimitably tactful, delicate and socially graceful way, Col. Tom Kratman puts it . . . just a little differently.

Modern, young, metrosexual, multicultural, social justice mongering lefties are idiots. They are idiots wherever found, all over the world. They are spoiled children; ill-mannered, ill-bred, weak, ignorant, and stupid. They are historically illiterate. They have no idea of how the world really works. The only ideas they have outside of the fever swamps contained within their neutronium-dense skulls, filled to the brim with professorial sewage, are the kind of ideas that can only survive inside the echo chamber of a safe space. They are, frankly, disgusting, and the similarities between them and actual human beings are minimal. Morally, intellectually, spiritually, they are cockroaches. Were it not that some of them are possibly larval stage human beings, creatures who may eventually grow up to be actual human beings, there would be little or no moral component to gassing them.

. . .

Bu’, bu’, but...you’re educated! You’re just so much better educated than the knuckle-dragging high school graduates of flyover country! Surely their votes shouldn’t count! Surely, at least, yours should count for more!

No, you are not educated; you are propagandized. Propagandization is the exact opposite of education. You have not been taught to think; you have been told what to think and taught not to think. Your skulls have been filled to the brim, as mentioned above, with left wing professorial shit. Not only should your votes not count for more; you should not be allowed to vote at all. You’re not mentally fit for the responsibility. As for the high school graduates of flyover country, no, they don’t have your sheepskins, and precisely because of that, because their native intelligence and talent have, unlike yours, not been suppressed or eradicated, they are in every way more fit for citizenship and its responsibilities, to include voting, than you are. They’re not, for example, dumb enough to vote for politicians and policies that will leave their children with a standard of living comparable to that found in Bangla Desh or Haiti. You people, on the other hand, are just that dumb.

. . .

Contemplate these things from your parents’ basement where, after twenty-eight years of Democrat, Globalist, RINO – Democrat by another name, New World Order rule, you’re still living, and doomed to live, because you cannot get a decent job and, after four or five expensive and wasteful college years, you still know nothing that anyone is willing to pay for and have signed yourself into debt slavery for life for, to boot.

Again, more at the link.

Speaking as an old Africa hand, I knew there was something familiar about Col. Kratman's style.  He exhibits all the tact, delicacy and social graces of an enraged rhinoceros.  It's very effective.  I approve.

I knew a social worker at the state hospital I worked at. She was a nice lady, if a bit...daft, dispite the fact she held THREE DOCTORATES. she literally needed a keeper. A perfect example of what my Tennessee hill-folk co-worker called a "college-educated dummy". I swear on some folks higher education drains IQ points....

Col. Kratman as enraged rhinoceros. I love it. I suspect he'd enjoy the comparison, too. ;-)

My late father - a college Professor - held that what a college degree outside of engineering or since qualifies you for is to study for the next degree. And nothing else.

I don't really see how these 'protests' can be a surprise, though; these are the fine folks who thought a bumper sticker saying "Friends don't let friends vote Republican" was FUNNY. My step-mother-in-law had one on her car, until I pointed out that what it was saying was that it was acceptable behavior to interfere with someone's free exercise of the franchise. You know; what the Klan did to Blacks in the South.

There needs to be drastic reform of the higher education system in the US. Cutting off federal student loans and state education dollars to dubious "studies" programs, the repeal of title IX, the elimination of college sports, ending tenure, rigorous high standards for admittance and for retention of faculty, expansion of technical and trade schools and apprenticeships, elimination of the silly outdated greek fraternities and sororities, a primary emphasis on hard sciences and engineering, a large cut in the numbers of foreign students and a ban of students from direct economic competitors like China. The leftist stranglehold on education must be broken and ripped out by the roots. The left has turned the universities into indoctrination academies the extent of which is difficult for the average American to even imagine unless he's seen it up close.

Hey, blocking a highway worked for protesters here in Charlotte. Not only did they loot cargo from semis on I-85 and get away with it -- at least so far -- but their violence frightened local politicians to support several programs the left can never get enough of.

To address the issues underlying the "protests," as Democrats on the city council put it, they approved more subsidized housing, school facilities in "distressed" areas, and job training programs.

That's the real answer to the age-old riddle about why the SJW crossed the road ...

I'm starting to understand why in the olden days, only property owners were allowed to vote.

The local air base provides a steady stream of ER patients to the local hospital.

Decades ago, in my state pedestrians had absolute right of way on highways, followed by bicycles, then cars.

A while back, the legislature revised the law to "pedestrians and bicycles must not obstruct traffic."

So, people from states where they're used to having right of way whip out into traffic and are promptly smeared down the road.

No, Bozo, your pedal-bike doesn't give you right of way here. Maybe you should check local traffic laws when you PCS...

In most, if not all, states, pedestrians still have right-of-way when they withing a cross walk. Outside that, no.

CA requires vehicles to stop in both directions when a pedestrian's foot comes off the curb and hits the pavement. And stay stopped until they reach the other curb.

The kicker is that most drivers aren't paying that much attention to peds.

In regards to the snowflake that stood in traffic, I think Larry Niven put it best: "Think of it as evolution in action."
If you're dumb enough to think that a car traveling at ~60 mph, at night, can see you and stop in time to avoid smearing your carcass down the tarmac, you obviously are an evolutionary dead end that needs to be pinched off.

Wonderful-- and I enjoyed the enraged rhinoceros bit. Having met a calm rhino and seeing how large it is, I would definitely not anger it. On the other hand... SJW's do need some re-education. *sigh
