Thoughts on Tucker Carlson's firing by Fox News

I've not commented on Tucker Carlson's firing before, because the reasons are fairly obvious.  He's wildly popular among conservative and "ordinary American" viewers, because he speaks the truth and isn't ashamed to say it out loud.  Unfortunately, that annoys the heck out of the powers that be.  Eventually, the pressure from them became too great, and Fox News caved.

However, they may have created a monster by doing that.  Tucker is now free to do whatever he likes, with whomever he likes, to whoever he likes.  His popularity is so great that he's guaranteed to take his audience with him when he makes his move.  A few possibilities:

  • How about joining forces with acerbic British commenter Neil Oliver (from whom we heard most recently last Monday)?  Neil's also very popular over here, and the two share a similarly unimpressed view of the powers that be.  With two such voices sharing a podium, and addressing concerns in both America and Europe, it could be a new conservative axis that would be a nightmare to the progressive left.
  • Tucker isn't a poor man, but his personal wealth pales in comparison to wealthy conservatives such as Peter Thiel, or semi-conservatives such as Elon Musk.  What if such conservatives were to get together with him and bankroll a truly conservative outlet, to challenge quasi-conservative Faux News and allow more more rational voices to be heard in America?
  • What about politics?  I think the current crop of professional politicians are a dismal lot, and President Trump, while not a professional politician, is getting on in years (which is a serious concern for me) and has never learned to control his temper or his outbursts.  Tucker Carlson would be a breath of fresh air as a Presidential candidate, and would be guaranteed huge support from day 1.  Can you imagine him debating a Kamala Harris or a Joe Biden?  It'd be a walkover - which is why the Democratic Party would never allow it to happen, of course.  They'd be terrified of the consequences.  I have no idea whether Tucker has political ambitions, but if he does, I'll be in his corner right from the start.

Those are just a few possibilities.  I'm sure there are more.

What do you think, readers?  What can a man like Tucker Carlson do to give a voice to our concerns?  Let us know in Comments.

Peter

I'd vote for him too.

I'm in for a DeSantis/Carlson ticket.

Although they kicked him off the air, he's still under contract. I think they are trying to use the terms of the contract to keep him from doing anything until after the election. The contract runs out sometime after the election.

DeSantis is owned by Israel and doesn't believe in the 1st amendment.

can't see why a Trump/Carlson ticket wouldn't be "just the ticket"

Tucker struck me as "normie" who has gotten red pilled over the years. His popularity is because he gives voice to what really is a majority of people.

In thay way he really is opposed to 99% of people in media. He has become cynical about the press and government.

Anyone seeking a senior national political office should, at a minimum, have served as a town's dog catcher, head of solid waste or water/sewer department.
"Celebrities" like Tucker should have a record of handling public money responsibly

Tucker for president! Ralph Nader and "never Trump " come to mind. If you want a zero probability of winning he's amongst a number of choices. At least you get more clicks with him than the others.

I gave up on Fox and cable TV after watching the 2020 election and seeing Fox call AZ for Biden when there was less then 1% of votes processed. This was the point that had the election called for Biden and it was clear there was a spread of time that no votes had been counted for several hours with Trump in a large lead and all of a sudden in multiple swing states the numbers changed to Biden leading. No media reported on the sudden change, why it happened, how it did, or the anomaly. No Judges and various levels in the swing states would look at evidence and allow cases to be opened.

I did watch Tucker via videos after that time.

I did see the GA State Senate have a committee in 2021 prove fraud in the 2020 election in various ways. They gave a report to the Senate President and Gov Kemp but neither did anything with it.

In 2022 in the GA Dem primary in DeKalb County for a district seat a Judge did allow a person to open a case. The woman was running for a district seat and got zero votes and went to the Judge and opened a case and the Judge said "why should I open one?" and she said "me and my husband live in the district and voted so I should have gotten at least two votes." So the Judge had the electronic voting machine count hand counted and the result was the woman won by over 3000 votes. This indicates the electronic voting machines are not valid and can be modified to pick who the coding people want.

"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can imagine"
It seems that Fox will learn of this.
I just hope that Tucker will help build up the populist outsider folks we need to displace the damned statists that are currently running everything.

Lawfare is the name of the game now. I hope whatever contract or venue Carlson takes next has a generous provision covering defense against such attacks.

Purely going by their policy statements, the candidates I like best are Vivek Ramaswamy (R) and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (D). Trump, DeSantis, Gabbard trailing. Would not consider other candidates as serious contenders.

Tucker should stick to what he does best, news analysis and commentary.

While I like Trump, he's too divisive. I expect the demonrats will cheat no matter who runs, but Trump would assure it.
We just need to figure out how to stop the cheating.

Regarding "has never learned to control his temper or his outbursts", I've only heard this in the legacy media reporting on Trump and never in rally speeches or elsewhere from Trump himself. Trump direct is well considered and makes a heck of a lot of sense.

Agree Andrew. The Donald has always come across as well measured when responding to a hostile press. The lies about temperament come from some private conversation reported as him describing shithole countries as shitholes. No one knows he even said that. But if he did, we all know it would be a true statement. I’m for Trump.

Strikes me that Tucker is the perfect choice to fill the position left vacant with the passing of Rush Limbaugh. Not twins, but both in possession of extremely powerful personalities and with a massive fan base. Not to mention common sense and conservative values.

Careful. Such criticism might violate Florida law. Also, remember that all criticism of a certain group are invalid because of may or may not have happened in the 1940s

Since Jerry Springer died, Tucker should take his job.
