John Stewart of the Daily Show seems to think so. In this video clip, he analyzes the President's policies and actions in a funny, but also a rather scary fashion. I think his comedy may be nearer to the truth than many other commentators' analyses.

It seems the general public may have similar feelings. This morning US News & World Report published a poll on its Web site, asking:
"President Obama told the Today Show that he is looking for an "ass to kick" in the Gulf oil disaster. Whose should it be?"
They gave four alternatives. Guess which one was the top choice of voters at the time I looked at the poll?

Uh-huh . . . Methinks the President has some damage control to conduct with the American people, even more than in the Gulf of Mexico!
