San Francisco - at very high speed!

We've met Ken Block and his Gymkhana series of high-performance vehicle videos before.  Here's his latest, filmed over four days in the streets of San Francisco.  It's worth watching in full-screen mode.

What can I say except, "Why is there never a traffic cop around when you really need one?"

Well, that's one way to use up a set of racing tires. :p

And I saw a metal detail off of the car after the jump in the harbour.

Awesome driving, bet that cost quite a bit.

Insane! And worth watching!

LOL, obviously we DIDN'T see the out-takes, and one can only wonder how many cars he wrecked to get 9 minutes of 'good' film...

the outtakes were more due to the camera's not getting the shot, or in one case falling off the car (at the bridge jump scene) Go Pro camera mounts are sturdy, but not THAT sturdy.

THAT WAS AWESOME!

Thanks :)

Old NFO: While Ken Block may occasionally hit a thing or two he doesn't intend to -- though rarely -- I don't think he has more than the one awesome car.

It's fun to see a city you know well shown-off to such advantage! I've tried similar stunts on a motorcycle in SF, but coming off a street/jump and going downhill, the angle can *really* compress the forks and then you start to nose-over...
Plus all the damn trolly-tracks are metal and have ZERO traction, so they're slippery as snot and they're in every corner too.
