Snowmobiles as combat vehicles in WW2
One never ceases to learn new things about the last World War.
I never knew that on the Eastern Front both the Soviets and Germans used armed snowmobiles as fighting vehicles. You'll find many photographs and diagrams over at Dark Roasted Blend if you're interested.
BTW, Dark Roasted Blend regularly comes up with truly amazing lists of interesting things and photographs to blow your mind. If you haven't visited the site before it's well worth bookmarking and returning regularly. A few of my favorite posts there:
Heavy Machinery Acrobatics, Part 2 (check out two other parts linked on this page);
The Hanging Monasteries Of The World
Rarely Seen Shuttle Pre-Flight Activities
Things You Can Do With (Or To) A VW Beetle
The Ten Most Magnificent Trees In The World (linked from DRB)
Fascinating stuff!
