Big badaboom!

(Headline stolen borrowed, of course, from 'The Fifth Element'.)

Jack Beckman took part in last week's Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals.  All was going well, until . . .

He had this to say about the experience.

Despite this spectacular blow-up, his team completely rebuilt the car, and he went on to qualify the following day with a 4.025-second run at 319.75 mph.  Kudos to a great team of mechanics, and to him for keeping it all together this time!

That is one amazing piece of driving!
Holding one of those things straight with the rear wheels blocked, after a bang like that? WOW!
