Many readers will doubtless be familiar with Nora, the piano-playing cat. She's become something of a sensation on YouTube. It seems that when she was a year or so old, she began pounding on the keys, and her owner encouraged her interest. She does it several times a day, whenever the mood takes her. This video clip (one of many on YouTube) shows her hard at work.
Nora even has her own Web site, complete with many more videos of her talents.
Now the BBC reports that a Lithuanian conductor has written a piece of music specially for her. It premiered on Friday. You can see a video report on the BBC News Web site.
Hmm. What's next? A reality TV show for the piano-playing cat?

Best postmodern playing I've heard. The music itself is equal to all other postmodern music (that is, uniformly awful), but this music has a cat, which makes it superior to all the rest. If you can get this cat to not play for 4'33", she'll have upstaged even Cage.
Goooooood one :-)
Ah, well, better that the cat play music itself than to have its hide turned into a banjo head and be played as music.
