I'm sure many readers have seen advertisements for the latest 'tactical' apparel, or equipment, or firearms, or whatever. The word has become almost a fetish for some. There are 'tactical' meals, 'tactical' socks, even 'tactical' underwear (although precisely what 'tactics' are to be employed while wearing it is something I'll leave to your imagination!).
Now someone with a well-developed sense of humor has introduced the ultimate 'tactical' product - the tactical corset! Thanks to Sue H. for e-mailing me the pictures and links.
Whoever designed the Tactical Corsets Web site is well versed in all the 'tactical' double-speak that's so beloved of wannabe 'operators'. It's full of tongue-in-cheek references to the vocabulary of Special Forces, SWAT teams and other hard-core outfits, whilst putting a whole new twist on them. (Do note the 'interrogation pouch' above, and its contents!)
They've even produced a video, with a live model demonstrating the thing!
Over at AR15.com, one of the Internet's foremost firearms forums, there's a thread discussing the 'tactical corset'. A lot of it's not safe for work, but if you're in an environment where that isn't a factor, you can click over there to read their comments.
All in all, a first-class bit of tongue-in-cheek fun!
