I found this video on YouTube, showing how old USAF and USN aircraft are cannibalized for parts to keep other aircraft flying, and eventually scrapped. I found the process interesting, and thought you might too.
It's sad to see an aircraft meet its end like this; but I guess, like ships, they have to go sometime! At least AMARG sees to it that they meet useful ends, keeping other planes in the air.

Never mind anything else left in them, I'd believe it is worth the trouble for all the wire. Lots of it is silver-plated.
Shame to see the Douglas track in the floor go to waste though, I'd like to have some of that for the box of my truck.
